My name is Jandra, and I’m an author. I started writing at a young age, and I have a Master’s degree in History from the University of East Anglia. After diving headfirst into a marketing career, I fell in love with writing fiction and haven’t looked back. Interested in learning more about me and what I do? Keep reading!
It’s my goal to help people – whether that’s through writing or public speaking – and I love seeing individuals reach their full potential. I’m passionate about books + writing, health + fitness, learning, goal setting, traveling, and embracing your individuality.

How did you start writing?
Ask my mom, and she’ll say that I started writing poems and coming up with stories when I was very young. I’ve been writing for ages, but I started “formally” writing when I was 12 and discovered poetry. That turned into songwriting, then comic writing, then screenwriting. I was sitting on an idea for a screenplay for a few years when I discovered National Novel Writing Month, which is how I fell in love with writing books.
I studied history, so I’ve had a lot of formal training in writing + research as well.
Are you accepting new clients?
What’s your fandom?
Marvel. It’s fairly common knowledge that I love the comics and the MCU, and Loki is my spirit animal.
Want to know if I like a certain show/movie/book/band/etc? Just ask!
What are you doing with your life?
I’m engaged to my fiancé, Conlan (also known as Mr. Jandra by some of my readers), and we live in a beautiful house with our husky, Leila, and our German Shepherd, Porter.
Are you qualified to write about books and the publishing industry?
Yes! While my fiction is currently unpublished, I have worked in the industry for several years, so I’ve been around the block. I used to work for a midsize publisher, where I was the director of marketing, and I was also the digital marketing director for a literary publicity firm.
I’ve spoken at conferences, including IBPA’s Publishing University, and I am a published author. I contributed to My Publishing Journey, which is a fantastic book that helps guide authors through the publishing process.
I’m also in the progress of writing a pretty kickass new book that spells out the publishing process from A to Z. You can read it now on Wattpad.
Well, I’ve done a lot of cool stuff in my 27 years. I used to live in England, and I still travel extensively. I’ve been all over the US, and I’ve also been to the Philippines, Turkey, Greece, and Italy.
