I’ve been obsessed with telling stories for as long as I can remember.
It’s who I am, and it’s part of my DNA. When I was a kid, I would imagine my own life story — traveling around the world, kicking ass as a super-secret spy, and helping people along the way — and not much has changed since then.
I’m on a mission to change the world. Because for most people — like me — who struggle with fear, failure, imposter syndrome, and anxiety, the problem isn’t that we don’t know WHAT to do. We know that we should step outside our comfort zones. We know we should believe in ourselves. We know we should cultivate a mindset that encourages growth.
The problem is HOW.
How do I face my fears?
How do I learn to move through them?
How do I reclaim control over my life?
How do I prevent anxiety from controlling me?
How do I cope with imposter syndrome?
How do I move past my failures?
If we’re going to struggle, and — let’s face it — we all are, then it’s not about eliminating that struggle. It’s not about never having to deal with problems in our lives. For me, I just wanted to know how to keep moving forward anyway. I spent years searching for a solution to my fear, but I didn’t realize that getting rid of the fear didn’t actually matter.
I’m still afraid.
I’m afraid right now.
I’m afraid of speaking my mind.
I’m afraid of putting myself out there.
But I’m going to do it anyway.

BOOK INFO

The debut novel from a publishing industry veteran tells the “thought-provoking and heartbreaking” story of friendship, love, and the struggles of finding yourself.
17-year-old Ava Collins grew up constantly reminded that she wasn’t – and couldn’t – be normal. A deaf student in public high school, her entire life was spent feeling like she needed to be ‘fixed’, but it wasn’t until she met Theo De Vries that she learned the truth.
Ava is learning that her life is her choice, that she gets to decide what she wants from her future, and that maybe we’re all a little bit broken. And normal? Well, normal is whatever you decide.
Published by Wild Hare Collective, Fragile is the first of a series of books aimed at young adults dealing with difficult topics and diverse characters that are relevant, relatable, and utterly binge-worthy.
