I’ve been obsessed with telling stories for as long as I can remember.
It’s who I am, and it’s part of my DNA. When I was a kid, I would imagine my own life story — traveling around the world, kicking ass as a super-secret spy, and helping people along the way — and not much has changed since then.
Over the last decade, I’ve worked with countless authors, brands, and organizations of various sizes to help them build and grow amazing brands online. Now? I’m all about teaching individuals (and companies) how to make that magic happen for themselves.
I’m also obsessed with all things personal development, and I believe that everyone deserves to feel great about their lives. That’s why I love integrating marketing, business, and self-care into one real-life package.
Because you can smash your goals and take care of yourself in the process.
My writing has been seen in Fast Company, Business Insider,, Marie Claire UK, Real Simple, USAToday, and more.

“Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.”
— Maya Angelou
The debut novel from a publishing industry veteran tells the “thought-provoking and heartbreaking” story of friendship, love, and the struggles of finding yourself.
17-year-old Ava Collins grew up constantly reminded that she wasn’t – and couldn’t – be normal. A deaf student in public high school, her entire life was spent feeling like she needed to be ‘fixed’, but it wasn’t until she met Theo De Vries that she learned the truth.
Ava is learning that her life is her choice, that she gets to decide what she wants from her future, and that maybe we’re all a little bit broken. And normal? Well, normal is whatever you decide.
Published by Wild Hare Collective, Fragile is the first of a series of books aimed at young adults dealing with difficult topics and diverse characters that are relevant, relatable, and utterly binge-worthy.
When did you start writing?
I started writing poems and coming up with stories when I was super young. (Like, I-don’t-actually-remember-but-my-mom-does young.) An obsession with really bad poetry when I was 12 turned into songwriting, then comic strip writing, then screenwriting.
I have a Master’s degree in history, so I spent most of my education learning how to write and research on various topics. After college, a friend challenged me to participate in National Novel Writing Month — during which I finished my first novel.
After leaving my job in marketing in 2016, I started freelance writing. The rest is history!
When did you start working in marketing?
I’ve spent the last decade perfecting the science of digital marketing. These days, everyone needs a brand. The key — and the difference — is knowing how to build an effective brand that works for you without burning out.
I love teaching people and organizations how to streamline their messaging, connect with their audiences, and get results without spending a fortune on massive marketing campaigns.
Are you accepting new clients?
How can I book you?
What’s your fandom?
Marvel. I love both the comics and the MCU, and I’ve written multiple Marvel fanfictions over the year.
Want to know if I like a certain show/movie/book/band/etc? Just ask!
What’s your Hogwarts house?
Gryffindor, obviously. Sometimes I test Slytherin, depending on my mood, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that Hermione Granger and I are basically the same person. I am a bushy-haired, insufferable know-it-all.
What are you doing with your life?
Who knows? Just kidding — I’m currently living in Nashville with my husband, Conlan, and our two dogs.
I love to spend my time writing, reading, and lifting weights. I recently started training in krav maga, and I’m obsessed with it. When I’m feeling a little lazier? Well, then you’ll catch me eating ice cream, watching movies, playing video games, or hanging out with friends.
If you’re ever in Nashville and want to grab a cup of coffee, hit me up.
You give a lot of advice about publishing. Are you qualified to write about books and the publishing industry?
Yes! I have worked in the industry for many years, so I’ve been around the block. I used to work for a midsize publisher, where I was the director of marketing, and I was also the digital marketing director for a literary publicity firm. (I was also a
I’ve spoken at conferences, including IBPA’s Publishing University and WattCon, and I am a published author. I contributed to My Publishing Journey, which is a fantastic book that helps guide authors through the publishing process. My debut novel, Fragile, is available now in paperback and ebook.
If you want to learn more about the industry, I’m currently working on a new book that’s a no-bullshit guide to what it *actually* takes to be successful in publishing. Be sure to follow me on Twitter for updates!
It’s been a crazy few years, and it’s only just beginning. I used to live in England, and I still travel extensively. I’ve been all over the US, and I’ve also been to the Philippines, Turkey, Greece, and Italy.
